Crunch Carbon offers a streamlined process for businesses and solar developers to earn carbon credits from their solar systems.After your meeting with the Crunch team and once you are ready to proceed you will sign our agreement which allows us to sell your carbon credits on your behalf.

Once signed, you’ll be requested to provide basic location and ownership information, with GPS coordinates or alternatively Google Maps data points. You will be required to upload various documents, like quotes for financial tracking, solar equipment specifications and maintenance details etc. are captured and securely stored in the cloud. Once all is uploaded and verified we will then sign the agreements.

We will then require read only access to the plant in order to periodically download, verify, process specific energy consumption data in order to present to our auditing partners. Once the data has been approved, Crunch Carbon with our partners then proceed to sell these verified carbon offsets and once sold we are able to financially reward the owners of the solar systems.

Carbon is generated through various activities such as driving your vehicle or flying on a airplane for a business trip or holiday which creates carbon from it's exhaust or from a manufacturing process or coal burning to make electricity. Simply put that dirty haze hanging over your town, that is likely pollution from carbon emitting activities.

Too much carbon makes the air dirty and polluted and can hurt us and our planet. We want to offset, or balance out this carbon and help keep the Earth clean and healthy.

Carbon credits are like "gold stars" you earn for making good choices.

Those good choices are you generating clean energy, more importantly using the clean energy you generated from your solar system. The more clean energy you generate and use, the more carbon credits you would earn.

We have Five main criterias to qualify;

(1.) You must be the legal owner of the solar system or plant.
(2.) The solar system or plant must be within the borders of South Africa.
(3.) The solar system or plant must be smaller than 15MWp (Megawatts peak). This specifically refers to each individual plant, not collective or portfolio of solar systems or plants.
(4.) The solar system or plant may not be participating or enrolled in any other Greenhouse Gas Emission (GHG) programs.
(5.) The system must have been commissioned on or after the 15 September 2022.
